Beijing Auto Show 2010 hosted the presentation of the BMW Gran Coupe, a four-door coupe that will rival models like the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7.

The Germans from BMW presented a concept car at theBeijing Auto Show that we hope will be even better then the other 5 Series models. The car has a length of five meters and is a four-door coupe that combines the advantages of a GT with a sports model. The ceiling of this concept is 100 mm lower than the current BMW 7 Series F01 and design development was done as a conventional sedan in three volumes.
Gran Coupe BMW will become the rival for models such as Porsche Panamera, Audi A7 and next generation of Mercedes-Benz CLS. BMW officials have not yet announced a release date of this car, but we expect to see a model derived from the concept in the next three years.
This concept means for BMW more than a future production model, Gran coupe’s lines are going to be present on other BMW models in the not too distant future. Thus, features such as large wheelbase, sloping bonnet, the front with a figure similar to “a shark nose” and athletic silhouette of this model might be present on other models in coming years if this model has the expected success among the public. The emblematic grille for BMW will remain part of BMW design, but the vertical bars will be twisted. The grid will be completed by a set of large vent holes and doors with frameless windows, as we’ve seen at a real coupe.
