Kia Motors and Ssangyong Motor are both rolling out new models here this week.

Kia on Monday launches the Forte Eco Plus, a fuel-efficient version of the Forte GDI sedan. It is the nation's first car to be equipped with the carmaker's new Idle Stop & Go system, which reduces fuel consumption by automatically switching the engine off when the car stops in traffic and instantly restarting it as soon as the driver is ready to move again. It can travel up to 17.5 km/l, a 6.1 percent improvement over its predecessor, Kia said.
he ailing Ssangyong, which was recently acquired by India's Mahindra & Mahindra, will debut the Korando C on Tuesday. It is the SUV maker's first new model to be launched here since the Chairman W in 2008.

Ssangyong will hold a launch event in Jeju on Tuesday where it will also reveal its plans for sales at home and abroad. The Korando C began production last year and has already hit markets in Western Europe, Russia and Latin America.
